CargoRail solution

The CargoRail solution is made for easier and more precise work at a railway station, on sidings, and during the carriage of cargo by rail between stations. CargoRail is an integrated system that lets you simplify processes, avoid errors and save time, and which is intended for the transmission of information between the different process participants.

Key advantages of using CargoRail
  • Efficiency. All processes (railcar manoeuvring, shunting, preparation of shipping documents, initiation of customs procedures) are configured according to the organisation’s needs. The integrated system makes it possible to work from any workplace, and automated procedures reduce the chance of human error.
  • Flexibility. System users perform actions within the system and input the required data. That data is used to prepare all the needed documentation (from bills of lading to logbooks) and to send automated notifications – according to the standard for both broad-gauge (SMGS) and narrow-gauge (TAF TSI) track. If integration standards or documents change, procedures remain the same, only the form of the documents or messages is changed.
  • Innovativeness. The system’s technological architecture is focused on the detection and communication of incidents. The system can also integrate with mobile and IoT devices and transmit data for analytics in near real-time.

Actions in CargoRail can only be performed in a set order, which can be changed according to a client’s needs. Actions with railcars, for example, may depend on the railcar type, the station where they are serviced, or other railcar data.

Data only has to be entered into the system once and then is used at other stages of the process. For example, when loading a railcar, the cargo and its mass are specified, and later when a bill of lading is prepared, that data is displayed automatically.

An action can be applied all at once to a selected group of railcars, or you can specify data just once for an entire group.

All users of the system see the same data and use the same functionality.

All the information needed for an action is provided in a single window.

All actions are performed with one of three modules: the client module, switcher module, or carrier module.

CargoRail modules – for just the actions needed to carry out one’s functions
  • The client module enables a client to fill out railcar loading and unloading details and track the entire cargo transportation process.
  • The switcher module includes the client module and also permits all actions with railcars at a station or on sidings.
  • The carrier module includes the client and switcher modules and also allows shunting, tracking the movement of trains, and exchanging information with other carriers and with the infrastructure manager.
  • New functionality is currently being developed for the integration of CargoRail with port, customs and other systems of importance to the railway business, and for the billing of services.
